Job Description
To proactively coordinate and promote safe working conditions at Bulkstream Limited through implementation of safe systems of work, occupational risk assessment and compliance with statutory and company Health, safety and Environmental requirements.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Assess potentially physical, mechanical, electrical, physiological, psychosocial and biological risks and participatory evaluate/review them for risk mitigation measures.
Effectively assess the implementation of risk measures to ensure they are realistic and consistently implemented.
Coach and supervise the HSE inspectors to ensure they effectively perform their duties.
Providing guidance and direction on safe work requirements to all employees within the organization processes.
Identify and promote safe behaviors and actions within operational areas working with supervisors to minimize potential incidents.
Analyze daily performance of HSE shift staff to immediately pick up actions that need immediate attention or escalation.
Supports safety training, toolbox talks, inductions and awareness programs for employees and contractors.
Ensures HSE updated information such as procedures, HSE statistics and signages are legible and provided at the appropriate places.
Perform any other related duties as assigned by the supervisor to ensure the efficient and effective functioning of the HSE function.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
University degree in Sciences (Biological, Natural, Applied)/ Engineering
At least IGC NEBOSH certification or equivalence OSH training
At least 3 years of experience in Health and Safety assignments
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Knowledge of local regulatory framework
Knowledge of ISO Management System would be an added advantage.
