Sobemai Operator

Operating assigned Mobile Equipment safely and efficiently as per set work plan to realize set performance targets.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. To drive and operate machine assigned safely.

2. Carry out machine inspection using checklist provided and report any technical issues before use.

3. Participate in hazard identification and risk mitigation.

4. Study of machine manuals and operate the machines assigned efficiently and effectively

5. Safely discharge cargo from the vessel as directed, ensuring set target is achieved and utilize equipment optimally to achieve set targets.

6. Adherence to Port and National traffic rules and regulations.

7. Check physical and general condition of the equipment and ensure cleanliness.

8. Communicates machine breakdown or technical faults to the supervisors.

9. Comply with Bulkstream Staff and Safety Regulations, circulars and notices issued from time to time.

ACADEMIC REQUIREMENTS

• Valid driving license with a minimum of 3 years of proven experience in handling required machines from a reputable driving school with a clean record.

• Valid driving license with Class G endorsement (for Reach stacker/excavator)

• A minimum of Kenya Certificate Secondary Education (KCSE) or its equivalent

• Certificate in any Engineering field will be an added advantage.

KNOWLEDGE & COMPETENCIES

• Experience operating SOBEMAI or Mobile Equipment.

• Attention to detail to ensure product quality is maintained.

• Ability to follow instructions and discharge schedules.

• Basic problem-solving skills during machine operation.

• Physically fit and able to work in a busy environment.

KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS

• Meet the set Ship discharge & cargo dispatch targets

• Compliance with vehicle/plant/equipment operations regulations.

• Timely & efficient response to operational incidents and accidents.
