Job Description
DESCRIPTION OF ROLE
The Assistant Manager will support the planning, coordination, and execution of bulk vegetable oil operations, ensuring the safe, efficient, and compliant functioning of staff, equipment, and terminal activities. The role involves overseeing day-to-day operations within the bulk oil terminal while upholding operational standards, safety regulations, and best practices.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Oversight of the 24/7 bulk terminal operations with safety and Environment being the highest priorities.
Routine communication and coordination with other departments.
Plan, implement and oversee the work of staff members to ensure efficiency and compliance with organizational requirements and company procedures.
Manage lead, train and develop all employees.
Ensure customer satisfaction and operational excellence.
When requested, participate in customer meetings to build relationships.
Maintain and develop safety culture among all employees.
Routine interface with accounting, maintenance, engineering and other terminal support teams.
Monitor and direct all dispatching activities, including tracking, routing and dispatching transportation vehicles.
Plan and implement operational changes to services, policies or scheduling as needed.
Ensure staff members fully and consistently comply with safety rules, administrative procedures and policies, environmental policies, union contracts and government regulations.
Initiate direct investigations to resolve shipper or customer complaints and verify their authenticity and accuracy.
Collaborate with staff members and fellow managers to create, modify and implement goals, procedures, policies and objectives when the opportunity presents itself.
ACADEMIC REQUIREMENTS & EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Food Science, Logistics, Business or related field
5–8 years’ experience in bulk liquid handling, edible oil, or terminal operations.
